AMD/ATI has decided to fight back to Nvidia’s new GTX 295 cards, instead of sitting idle watching their crown being taken away from them they decided to response. Which is good in my opinion, why? you ask, this competition between both company will bring us more high performing cards at lower prices. 😀
Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has decided to lower the price for their flagship graphic card ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB down to $449 which was previously at $549. So, they reduced cost of $100 and some of ATI’s partners are giving $50 rebate making it $399 card, though I am sure it’s still expensive for some of you out there, the price cut is a good news. ATI is trying to grab about 50% of the market of standalone desktop graphics cards. To achieve this goal their strategy is to lower cost for their cards.
